Vg Hotbit888 - You Won't Need My Hand

I remember little fingers
wrapped around my hand.
You were learning how to walk,
and I was helping you to stand.
There were nights I barely slept,
and days I needed rest.
But when you put your arms around me,
I knew how much I was blessed.
One day you won't need my hand.
You'll find your own way through this life.
And I'll be standing here so proud,
with tears I cannot hide.
I know I have to let you grow,
though it's harder than I planned.
And sometimes I wish for one more day,
when you still needed my hand.
Now you say,
"I'll do it, Mama."
And I smile and let you try.
Every little step you take
brings another small goodbye.
I used to be your whole world,
the one you'd always run to.
Now the world is getting bigger,
and there's so much waiting for you.
One day you won't need my hand.
You'll find your own way through this life.
And I'll be standing here so proud,
with tears I cannot hide.
I know I have to let you grow,
though it's harder than I planned.
And sometimes I wish for one more day,
when you still needed my hand.
I used to wish the days were shorter,
when I had so much to do.
Now I wish that time would slow down,
just a little more with you.
And when you don't need me beside you,
I'll still be here, you know.
Being your mama doesn't end
just because I let you go.
One day you won't need my hand,
and I'll be proud of who you are.
You'll have your own dreams to follow,
and they may take you far.
But if the world gets heavy,
and things don't go as planned,
you'll always have a place with me,
and I'll always offer you
my hand.
So take your time, my little one.
There's no need to grow so fast.
Just
let me hold your hand a little longer
while these moments
last
