Kimo Sounds, Shafik Banks, Kimo Records - Called Your Name

Across the room,
something in the air
still feels like you.
I left my footsteps by the oceanside,
where broken waves were keeping time.
A faded summer underneath my skin,
a door half-open I could never close again.
The city lights were turning gold, while every secret stayed untold.
I watched the morning touch the rain,
and felt your memory move through me again.
I called your name
beneath the stars,
across the streets, across the dark.
I called your name,
let the wind reply, then carried your shadow
to the other side.
A silver moon was hanging low,
painting the places we used to know.
I found a letter without a date,
three little words that came too late.
Maybe we were meant to change, maybe goodbye was never strange.
But somewhere underneath this sky,
a part of me still asks you why.
I called your name
beneath the stars,
across the streets, across the dark.
I called your name,
let the wind reply, then carried your shadow
to the other side.
The night grows quiet,
the lights turn gray.
I keep the memory, but you fade away.
